I hold a Master of Philosophy (M. Phil.) in Military & Strategic Studies from Kings College University of London, England, and a BA (Hons) in Political Science & International Relations from Wilfred Laurier University Waterloo, Ontario, Canada.
Professionally, I have extensive experience in the public and private sectors, working primarily on governance, economic, social, and environmental issues in the Caribbean and Latin America. I am skilled in project/program identification, implementation and analysis, including the use of performance management frameworks to enhance successful implementation.
Work assignments have included service as a member of Jamaican diplomatic representation at the United Nations New York, Coordinator of the United Nations Caribbean Environment Program, Director of Jamaican National Investment Promotion Agency, Senior Operations Officer at the Inter-American Development Bank, and Director of the Caribbean Community Secretariat.
I served on Iona’s Board in the mid 1990’s, and am currently serving for a second term. My experience as a family caregiver for over 16 years has sensitized me to the needs of the ageing and aged.
I consider it a great honor to participate in the work of an organization that is very dear to my heart, and which affords me an opportunity to give back to the community in which I live.
