Here’s William’s story.
After a long career, William took early retirement because of health challenges. He’s had both knees and both hips replaced, and lived with club feet since birth. His debilitating psoriatic arthritis makes shopping and cooking difficult, if not impossible. On a good day, he moves from his living room to his porch. “I should have learned to cook,” he says. Instead, William got by on McDonalds, or pizza and Chinese takeout. He gained weight, developed diabetes, and blood clots. That was a low point. The high point was learning he was eligible for Iona’s home-delivered meals. Iona delivers ten nutritious meals to his door every other Friday.
Iona’s meals are healthy, there’s good variety and, most importantly, they taste good,” says William.
