LGBTQ Weekend Meal Delivery Brigade

Every Saturday, 52 weeks a year, Iona organizes volunteers to pack and then deliver meals to frail older folks in NW DC who can’t get out to shop or have trouble cooking. Because Saturday, June 30th is a “fifth” Saturday, some of our regular volunteers who tend to choose a first through fourth Saturday are unavailable. This opens it up for Iona to host a special LGBTQ Weekend Meal Delivery Brigade.

We will begin packing meals at 9:15 AM. Delivery starts around 10:00 AM. Afterwards, our group plans to adjourn to Panera, a restaurant nearby Iona, where everyone could buy their own lunch, and we could visit for a bit.

We need about eight volunteers, but could accommodate 12-16 if people wanted to double or even triple-up for the delivery part.
