Fraud: Preventing Financial Exploitation

This session will cover examples of exploitation, how to identify potential abusers, and resources and strategies for protecting yourself. How are frauds communicated to the senior community? Are safeguards in place?

Join us to learn how to tap into the right supports and resources. Success stories and volunteer opportunities will also be highlighted.

Guest Speakers: Idriys J. Abdullah, Consumer Protection Advocate, DC Department of Insurance, Securities and Banking (DISB) and members of the DC Elder Abuse Prevention Committee.

This session will take place at St. Columba’s Church. Room 212. 4201 Albemarle St. NW Washington, DC 20016.

St. Columba’s is across 42nd street from Iona and is a short walk from the Tenleytown Metro, with street parking available. Light refreshments will be provided.
