Gallery at Iona
An Age Well | Live Well Program of Iona Senior Services
The Gallery at Iona began in December of 2007 and has featured the work of professional and highly trained painters, print makers, photographers, fiber artists, and sculptors who are over the age of 60.
The Gallery at Iona features a Guest Artist Program program; on-going educational workshops and events; and a Meet the Artists reception three times a year with food and wine that welcomes a lively inter-generational crowd, and features light refreshments and live music.

A graduate of Towson University and Maryland Institute College of Art, Valerie Watson is known for her large watercolors. Her works are exhibited internationally by the U.S. Department of State, Arts in Embassies Program. She has been awarded by the Maryland State Arts Council, the Governor’s Citation of Merit, Prince George’s Community College’s Faculty grants and a listing in Who’s Who in America.
Norma Brooks of njb Basket of Jewels is a folk artist and versatile designer who creates jewelry, baskets, and rugs. The fabric art she creates consists of baskets and rag rugs while using coiling, weaving, and crocheting techniques. All of her jewelry, baskets, and rugs are one of a kind boasting of rich and vibrant colors, unique patterns and mixed textures. Norma loves to upcycle different objects she finds by using them as embellishments to her creations. She’s constantly on a mission to create new methods of different pieces that are pleasing to the eye.
